ABOUT AR CONSULTING ENGINEERS

AR Consulting Engineers is a growing structural and civil engineering consultancy providing innovative,
practical, and cost-effective engineering solutions across residential, commercial, industrial, and
infrastructure projects. We are seeking an experienced Structural Draftsperson to join our team on a
casual or project-by-project basis.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a hands-on Structural Draftsperson with proven experience in preparing high-quality
structural drawings for a wide range of construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely
with our engineering team and report directly to the Engineering Manager to ensure accurate and timely
project delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare detailed structural drawings and documentation for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Develop structural plans, sections, details, and reinforcement drawings.
• Interpret engineering calculations, sketches, and design concepts.
• Coordinate drafting activities with engineers, architects, builders, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant Australian Standards and project requirements.
• Revise and update drawings based on engineering reviews and client feedback.
• Maintain drafting quality and document control procedures.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrated experience as a Structural Draftsperson in Australia.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and construction methods.
• Experience producing concrete, steel, timber, and masonry structural drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or Certificate in Engineering Drafting, Civil Engineering, Building Design, or a related discipline.
• Experience working with Australian residential and commercial building projects.
• Knowledge of local council and building approval requirements.
